RiRi Woo? More like boo: Her MAC lipstick sells out

We were totally pumped when MAC announced plans to remix its classic Ruby Woo shades into RiRi Woo — a partnership with Rihanna, of course.

“This post is for the MAC girls everywhere!!! My very first, very own, signature red lipstick #RiRiWoo is FINALLY AVAILABLE!!!! Get it online at Maccosmetics.com #MACRiRiWoo,” she tweeted on Thursday morning.

Well, we were pumped… but it sold out before we could buy it!

Insert sad face here.

“#SOLDOUT!!!!!!!!!! First shipment sell awf!!! Next shipment isn’t til June!!! Mac girls gone wild!!!” the singer tweeted a few hours later.

The company announced plans to collaborate with the “Stay” singer in February. It was a natural partnership, according to Rihanna.

“When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind — for something legit — is MAC,” she told Women’s Wear Daily in February. “Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC.’ I’ve been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”

RiRi believes that her recent forays into makeup — and fashion — aren’t that big a departure from her musical ventures. They’re each art forms, she said.

“Being creative is something that I love, so I can put that into different outlets,” she said. “Music happens to be the first thing that I gravitated to, and now music opens doors to just so many different opportunities, and they all tie in. My makeup looks, my fashion looks… they help me to express myself as an artist. I think it helps people to understand me or my mood, my story.”

We’re just bummed we can’t get our hands on her “art” yet. Good news, though: MAC is planning to release another run of the lipstick in June.

Our credit cards are ready, RiRi!
