When it comes to haute couture gowns and major film debuts, Cannes Film Festival is the place to be. It’s also the place to be seen, and Emma Watson certainly caught my eye in this black and white Chanel Couture spring ’13 gown last week. The actress wore the figure-hugging dress to the premiere of The Bling Ring.
The classic color combo is oh so trendy for spring this year but a mix of textures, like Emma’s beaded black bodice, really spices the look up. Emma finished the look off with a cool updo for a casual-meets-couture effect.
The final verdict? With the small addition of a sparkly bodice, this gown goes from classic to cool. There’s just the right amount of bling going on here, and the dress hugs Emma’s curves beautifully. The lesson for all of us? Sometimes a bit of sparkle can really turn your look into something major.
Freida Pinto
Stunning. That’s the first word that comes to mind when I look at this photo of Freida Pinto. The actress wore this custom Sanchita gown to the premiere of Jeune & Jolie at Cannes last week, and she seriously deserves an award for how amazing she looked.
Everything from the sexy yet curtailed slit to the beaded bust detail to the incredibly alluring plunging cowl back on this dress combine for one heck of a dress. Freida looks chic, sultry and sophisticated all at once, and that’s not exactly easy to pull off. Guess when you have a gown custom made for you, the fashion gods are in your favor!
The final verdict? Cherry red lips and a sideswept updo with sleek and wavy siren bangs created the perfect backdrop for this Old Hollywood glamour look. Can we all look this great, please?
