Capricorn
Dec. 22 – Jan. 19

It’s your time to shine right now, and by that we don’t mean your greasy forehead! Capris are goal setters and planners, and social status is important to them. Because of this, Capricorns will always be up on all the latest and greatest fashion trends, and this includes makeup. While some of us may get caught in a makeup rut, a Capricorn wouldn’t be caught dead wearing last year’s eyeshadow trend. You Capris are the reason the first 100 pages of Vogue and Vanity Fair are makeup ads!

Aquarius
Jan. 20 – Feb. 18

You’re a fishy bunch! You like to share ideas and you love things that are unique, but interestingly you can also be classified as snobby! The makeup industry loves Aquari because they will share all of their makeup faves with their girlfriends, and you can bet their “must-haves” will be brand name. Women are competitive by nature, so if an Aquarius brags about a $30 lipstick, there’s a good chance her friends will give it a try.

Pisces
Feb. 19 – Mar. 20

The flower-children of the zodiac are the reason we started to see glitter in eyeshadow, lotions and lip glosses. They are spiritual, emotional, intuitive, creative and mystical. Because they feel emotions on a different plane than non-Pisces, they are the largest purchasers of waterproof mascara.

Aries
Mar. 21 – April 19

If you need something to get done, better search for an Aries. They are headstrong, courageous and tend to be leaders. Aries also love excitement so they love new innovations in skin care and makeup. When the Clinique counter is launching something new, the Aries line up.

Taurus
April 20 – May 20

Taurus gets a bad rap for being stubborn, but they are also peace-loving. A female Taurus is inclined to purchase a minimal amount of makeup in earthy, subtle tones. Her makeup wardrobe consists of things you’d find in a field — lots of greens, browns and peaches. It can be difficult to tell if a Taurus is even wearing makeup, because they often don’t — and don’t even try to convince them that they should.

Gemini
May 21 – Jun 20

These children of spring are curious, talkative and versatile. It is that versatility that translates into moodiness. For this reason, girls of this sign tend to buy makeup that spans all spectrums. They will purchase heavy, dark makeup for when they are in a dark mood, bright red lipstick for when they are in a sexy mood and subtle shades for when they are in a girl-next-door mood.

Cancer
June 21 – July 22

Girl Cancers love to live rich, safe, comfortable lives and as you may expect, their choices in makeup are also safe and comfortable. A Cancer would no sooner sit at a makeup counter at Macy’s to try something new than shave her head and tattoo her skull. If you have a Cancer friend from high school, she is still wearing her makeup the way she did in high school. These girls invented hair and makeup ruts, making the rest of us crazy, but they are totally comfortable with it.

Leo
July 23 – Aug. 22

The show-offs of the zodiac want to be in the spotlight, so they will do whatever it takes to be the center of attention. For Leos, this typically means figuring out what makeup styles accentuate their features, and sticking with it, but having three to four choices within this spectrum. For example, if a Leo has green eyes, she’s going to want them to steal the show. So she’ll have purple eyeshadows, brown eyeshadows and gray eyeshadows and change them out depending on her mood.

Virgo Aug. 23 – Sept. 23

Can you say type-A? Virgos are focused, organized and high performers. They are going to put more care into how their makeup is organized and stored than into the actual makeup. Virgos are responsible for all the handy compacts and under-cabinet storage bins for makeup that are now available. A Virgo’s makeup ritual will be strict and timed to the nanosecond so she can’t be wasting time looking for something.

Libra Oct. 23 – Nov. 21

Social creatures that they are, Libras are going to employ a more approachable look. They won’t be too trendy or flashy, for fear of alienating others. Their look is a welcoming one, so it will be warm and subtle. Libras are less about eyeshadow and foundation and more about a touch of blush and a hint of mascara. Their tastes are simple, and their friendly manner makes up for their lack of makeup finesse.

Scorpio
Oct. 23 – Nov. 21

Oooo, now for the naughty side of the zodiac. Scorpios are, much like the creatures they are named for, dangerous. They are the most mysterious and sexual of the zodiac. Female Scorpios are going to take more risks with their makeup, sporting bolder looks than other signs. They pioneered smoky eyes and shiny red lips. They are the girls whose makeup you admire, but you’d never dare try.

Sagittarius
Nov. 22 – Dec. 21

This sign is all about fun. Sags like to travel, experience new things and are rabid optimists. Their makeup choices will include things that bring a glow to their skin and a twinkle to their eye. They never take any of their wardrobe or fashion selections too seriously, but they love combo makeup kits that are easy for them to toss in a duffle bag and hit the open road.
