Unfortunately, no one was able to catch her before she apparently made her purchases and exited the store. Authorities said her use of the pepper spray was a deliberate attempt to get more merchandise.

The woman used the spray in several areas of the store “to gain preferred access to a variety of locations in the store,” said Los Angeles Fire Capt. James Carson.

“She was competitive shopping,” he said.

Witness claims it all started over video games as screams erupted when about 100 people waiting in line to snag Xbox gaming consoles and Wii video games got into a shoving match.

“This was customer-versus-customer ‘shopping rage,’” said Los Angeles Police Lt. Abel Parga.

Police are currently searching for the woman.
