DIY lemongrass body wash

It is April, after all, and with it comes showers! This is a lovely body wash perfect for your spring showers. Lemongrass is an energizing scent that will put a spring in your step!

We used Kirk’s Original Coco Castile Soap for this DIY lemongrass body wash. Castile soap is made with 100-percent pure plant oils (no animal fats). It is gentle, biodegradable, hypoallergenic and is not tested on animals. Kirk’s has been around for 175 years and is multi-functional (great for simplifying your personal and home care). You can use it to wash your hair, your hands and to help keep pests out of your garden.

This lemongrass body wash is thinner than store-bought washes you may be used to showering with, but you won’t mind (though you may want to use a container with a spout). Not only is this body wash cost effective (three bars of this castile soap cost us about $4) and easy to make, but the glycerin will help you retain moisture, and the lemongrass essential oil will give you a fresh start to your day. Store this body wash in a plastic container (recycle some of your empty shampoo and conditioner containers to use to store your body wash).

If you are pregnant, you should not use essential oils. For facts and safety information of essential oils and aromatherapy, check out the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy.
