Winter boots for toddler girls

If it’s snowy or cold in your neck of the woods, you’ll want to make sure that you keep your little one’s feet warm and dry. Fortunately, you can find a variety of winter boots for toddlers that aren’t just warm and comfy, but cute, to boot.

Keep her tootsies
warm and dry

Pretty in pink

The North Face Alpenglow boot is absolutely adorable, and North Face is a brand you can trust for durability and water-resistance. These cold-weather boots will keep her feet warm and dry — plus they are easy to take on and off, making them perfect for toddlers. (Nordstrom, $50)

Trusty Timberlands

Your hubby might love his Timberlands, and now your kids can too — even toddlers and babies. The Timberland Mallard Snow Squall waterproof snow boots come in infant and toddler sizes. They feature watertight construction, making them ideal for trudging through the snow. You might pay a little extra for Timberland boots, but they are worth every penny. (Zappos, $80)

Not ugly UGGs

Yes, toddler girls will love their UGGs too — just like Mommy. Because they are from UGG, you know these boots are going to be comfortable, but you probably didn’t realize they’d be oh-so-cute. The UGG Bailey Button Butterfly toddler boots feature a shimmery metallic butterfly print and come in Raspberry Sorbet or Dried Lavender. (UGG, $130)

Jack Frost not nipping at her toes

Kamik offers a variety of winter boots for little ones. We love the Kamik Jackfrost snow boot. It features a waterproof nylon upper and moisture-wicking synthetic shearling lining. She’ll love the cute color and style. You’ll love the adjustable closure for a secure fit. (Piperlime, $43)

Tips for buying boots for kids

Traction: One of the most important (and often overlooked) considerations is proper traction. You don’t want your toddlers to slip in icy conditions. Look for boots with thick rubber soles.

On and off: Toddlers are just learning how to put on and take off their shoes and boots. Look for boots that fasten with Velcro and slip on easily.

Size up: Buy a size larger than your child currently wears. She can wear a couple of pairs of socks this year, and the boots will still fit next winter.
